At the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco last week, Steve Ballmer announced the new Popfly beta.  Popfly is a very cool rich internet application that enables you to very easily build compelling web page and composite (“mashups”) applications.  Popfly essentially enables anyone with a browser and a mouse to build a web mashup app.

As Denny Boyton writes about in his blog post Architectural Thoughts on Microsoft Popfly, one of the compelling aspects of an application like Popfly is that it enables anyone to build mashups.  It does not require programming skills and it is completely visual (no coding).  Denny also does a nice job highlighting the architectural significance of Mashups and use of Popfly and Silverlight.
